a World Suspended In Dreams...Posted by dj.tigersprout (New York City, United States) on 4 November 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. i stood in the icy, mid-morning darkness watching the beautiful light glimmer in the sky. i was awake but certainly dreaming: a long and deep, violet, waking dream. the water lapped softly against the shore, but otherwise, the world as i knew it had come to a frozen stand still. i, too, stood silently -- frozen in rapture -- trapped within this cold, foreign world; a world suspended in dreams...

Zing from Hamilton, New ZealandWow, so beautiful. Love the purple tones, awesome! 4 Nov 2009 5:28am @Zing: thanks mate!!! :) k@ from Paris, FranceA purple Beauty, Jaycee ! Dreamy for sure, thanks to share (right when I woke up in Paris :) 4 Nov 2009 5:42am @k@: i hope it was a happy awakening for you then! i had posted this just as i was going to sleep -- so we were both sleepy... but on opposite ends of the sleep cycle!!! :) thanks Karine!!! xxx dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaYour title fits this perfectly! Another stunning image. 4 Nov 2009 6:15am @dobbino: thanks heaps Rob!! :) @Yvonne Simons: thanks Yvonne!!! :) @Alun: cheers Alun! Rand from Laie, United StatesI like the purple. Not as cold as blue would be, but still gives the sense of a crisp morning. 4 Nov 2009 6:43am @Rand: thanks Rand! Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandWow incredible!!!! What unique light and colour!! 4 Nov 2009 7:03am @Linerberry: thanks heaps Liners!!! :) xxx Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyEven though I normally don't like shots with an artificial look yours truly stands out. Amazing toning. One of the best images I have seen for quite some time... 4 Nov 2009 7:05am @Mirko Herzner: thanks heaps Mirko!! i am doing a fair bit of experimenting in photoshop! this photo was converted to duotone and then i played with tinting within the different light levels -- shadows, middle tonalities, and highlights. :) sorry to hear we won't be meeting this December -- but no matter, it will happen one way or another i am sure!! maybe we can meet in northern Norway in March? ;) Stu from Kyoto, JapanThis is a stunner dj! I love your choice of purple hues for this cold landscape. 4 Nov 2009 7:12am @Stu: hello and thanks very much Stu!!! :) @Calusarus: cheers mate -- thanks!!! :) @MadScientist: thanks MS!! yes -- it wasn't an out of body experience -- but i was certainly NOT from the world that i knew!!! ;) grouser from Ludlow, United KingdomNice words and a beautiful picture to go with them, though I think the treatment is a tad hard. A little more detail in the shadow areas wouldn't go amiss if the original has it. 4 Nov 2009 10:56am @grouser: thanks for the honest feedback Grouser and yes -- the processing is a tad hard, but i wasn't as much worried with details in the deepest of shadows here, as dreamscapes don't focus on the details in the dark areas -- they tend to dissapear into unfathomable darkness... almost an intangible flatness -- as if the lighter parts of the image float over a black abyss. :) @Eric Rousset: thanks Eric!!! Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainA great title for this wonderful image. I wish I go there some day :) 4 Nov 2009 11:59am @Paco Díaz: thanks Paco!!! it is certainly a wonderful place -- now one of my favorites on the planet!! :) hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongThis is poetic my friend! The way the last of the light outlines the clouds and the gentle waves of the ocean is sheer brilliance. Beautiful shot. 4 Nov 2009 5:46pm @bluechameleon: thanks very much BC!! of course, i thought of you while working on this shot and when i was looking at the results of my experiementing -- this is very much your realm of shadows and light, of dreams becoming different, inherent realities. thanks for all your previous visual inspiration!!! :D xxx @Veronelle: Merci Veronelle!!! @Marion: thanks Marion!! :) Fred from Manila, PhilippinesWow. This looks like a master's painting. The control of the different hues of purple is a very nice effect. This really does make for a dreamy awakening. Good job here Jaycee! 4 Nov 2009 6:38pm @Fred: thanks very much Fred!!! :) Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesWow! Love the lavender tones here. And I love how the water is all "lit up" while the surroundings make a nice silhouette. 4 Nov 2009 6:40pm @Steven: thanks Steven!! i did play around a good deal with this image as i wanted it to be more dreamscape than reality! i don't remember exactly what i did as it was over a few work periods, but i believe i masked the light on the water to more appropriately match the light the sky -- which i modified at an earlier time! cheers to you! :) @Stefan: cheers Stefan!! @Graham Russon: thanks Graham!! all the best to you -- have a great week! jamesy from christchurch, New ZealandAwesome Purple haze is what I think of when I see this Love it 5 stars 4 Nov 2009 8:09pm @jamesy: thanks heaps Deb!! kisses to you!! :) xxx `Paul from Minneapolis, United States.. nicely shot .. the mood is precisely what you wrote under this strong image -- dreamy, suspended, ephemera, .. the image is just as much a dreamscape as it is a photo.. . . effective. 4 Nov 2009 8:11pm @`Paul: cheers Paul!! thank you kindly!! :) @beanow: thanks very much Bea!!! :) xxx manel from Girona, SpainMe encanta esta serie del ártico en Noruega; en especial esta de hoy.
