i still miss the amazing light that day on the beach. it was magical, as if time had stopped, ceased ticking; iceland was ours...

Suuureal and mysterious! The two-tone color is fabulous. I like the "unknown-ness" of this shot- where on earth is this place and where is the vehicle that created this track... And where did it go?

@Howard F.: thanks mate! iceland it is -- on the coast to the south... a very isolated place -- they could film x-files there for sure! :) these tracks belong to a sheep farmer who lets his flock graze on the rocky hillsides. he then drives the beach every few hours or so and checks up on them and makes sure they haven't strayed too far. i believe he lived just around the corner of rock to the right... not too far... and the beach was lined with previous passes of his 4x4 jeep. i was happy to have the answers to these questions as when we first arrived on the quiet and isolated beach, we had pondered the very same ones! :)

Amazing black sand and landscape. Love the angle of this shot and the curves leading the eye through this image. Excellent capture of this interesting land and rock formations. The dark contrasts are what really fascinates me with this composition. Great job!

@Stephen Phillips: hey Stephen!! sorry for the late reply -- posting once or twice a week helps me in getting back to everyone -- *sometimes* lol. i am good -- still existing at the bottom of the NYC food chain, which is hard sometimes when compared to making really good money in san fran... but i knew this was the way it was going to be when i got here -- so i am here for the long haul. still -- i love this city -- so grand, so international -- so many dreams becoming realities!! other than that just trying to get situated, which i am mostly... prepping for winter, which seems to be coming way too early -- and just waiting out this really bad economy like everyone else!! :P but all in all i cannot complain -- things are starting to brew, i hope to have some photographic news shortly! :) all the best to you -- hope everything is very well for you!!!

@jean-sebastien: thanks mate! yes -- this photo was taken with only natural light. in the foreground the top layer of black sand was more of a light gray... which provided the perfect natural contrast for these tire marks!! cheers!
