Yellow Above, Blue Below... a Marmalade CoastlinePosted by dj.tigersprout (New York City, United States) on 22 June 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. and amongst all this raw and natural beauty, the unmistakeable presence of man -- even here, so many hours outside of Reykjavik. still, in this alien and mystical land of cold silence and beautiful isolation, the very concept of the combination was amazingly beautiful... all work protected by Creative Commons

dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaYour write-up here is absolutely perfect for this magnificent photo - amazingly beautiful. 22 Jun 2009 5:10am @dobbino: thanks very kindly mate!! cheers to you Rob! akarui from Kagoshima, JapanThe picture is wonderful. I find really surprising the golden colors in the sky not beeing reflected in the water, the colors there are more pink or purple (colors that we can see also during a sunset or sunrise in those countries). I love the blue ice, a very hard and compact ice... 22 Jun 2009 5:14am @akarui: cheers mate -- and thank for your response about the lack of reflection of color in the water. i went back and checked the original -- its the same there - a lack of real sky reflection... i think because the water in this area was moving quite quickly the surface wasn't as reflective as if the water had been more still like it is over closer to the bank. this was the opening to the outlet to the sea and there was certainly a strong current. cheers Olivier!!
