Lovely capture. 23 Apr 2009 6:43am Elaine- from Canadavery unusual image jaycee!!.. did you mirror it after the fact? coz the shadow up the center looks very odd.... seems almost a religious thang, but what religion i don't know... great work my friend!!! kisses and hugs to you, and thanks for visiting me :D 23 Apr 2009 6:48am @Elaine-: hey Elaine! :) yeah i just mirrored it in photoshop -- think i should have either darkened the matt or pushed the two halves together closer... :P c'est la vie!! :) x ishm from dubai, United Arab EmiratesCool shot!!I believe they are two columns side by side with hieroglyphic motif..I've never been to NYC, could this be a transportaion terminal? I wonder.. 23 Apr 2009 7:05am "Marie" :-) from perth, AustraliaUnique shot, love the lighting and the gold is gorgeous. 23 Apr 2009 7:14am MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyMysterious, mate! Ciao :) 23 Apr 2009 8:26am grouser from Ludlow, United KingdomI agree about pushing the two halves closer. Otherwise nicely done. 23 Apr 2009 10:11am observing from North West, United KingdomI think there is more to this image than at first seems, very thought provoking dj, perhaps seeing more will reveal the story. 23 Apr 2009 10:14am Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesLove this architectural detail that you captured here. I like the gradual change in color the lighting had on the figurines. I also thought this was a capture of columns close together and not something mirrored in Photoshop. The gap in the middle I like since it does provide me that appearance as columns. Interesting that you speak of "chapter" when speaking of this photo from the library. :-) 23 Apr 2009 12:47pm Michael Rawluk from Williams Lake, BC, CanadaA new chapter in a new adventure story. It is going to be an epic adventure. 23 Apr 2009 3:58pm Nataly from Santa Monica, United StatesVery bright image, DJ. And what I like mostly about your NY series, you are not repeating the cliche images of NY, but showing this City in a very striking detailed way. Keep it up. As a New Yorker I can truly appreciate it! 23 Apr 2009 5:19pm @Nataly: hello and thanks Nataly!! i certainly LOVE this city!!! so many wonderful embellishments whether it is grandiose architecture, local neighborhood character design, or even the normal everyday urban decay!! just amazing!! old on new on old... it keeps me enthralled and searching for more photo opportunities!! cheers to you!!! :) António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalHow is it going? Does the image have any symbolism? 23 Apr 2009 5:36pm beanow from Warsaw, PolandThe excellent introduction - symmetrical, with beautiful light and the arrangement of details. 23 Apr 2009 6:14pm Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaGreat shot, the symmetry is wonderful. 23 Apr 2009 7:51pm marianne from Toulouse, from France, Francea very strange image ... a snake, a hand, a bird, what's the symbolic ??? 23 Apr 2009 8:26pm willow from Chelsea, United StatesA new beginning with ancient symbology... Nice detail shot - I like the mirroring. 24 Apr 2009 1:13am JJ from Jersey City, United StatesA striking capture, and wonderful symmetry, quite Karma to coming here that this is one of the first shots you took here 24 Apr 2009 1:48am Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesYou are making me want to head up to NYC... Symbolism is crazy throughout this frame....love this! 24 Apr 2009 12:50pm dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaTook me a while of examining to realise that you had done the mirror effect yourself - wonderful! 24 Apr 2009 1:37pm Emilio Garcia from Pleasanton, United StatesInteresting shot and what may it presage? Freedom to fly just as you want to? and the snakes? a sign of caution? Maybe I am reading to much into it. But it is great. 24 Apr 2009 8:38pm Magda from Vancouver, CanadaFantastic! Love the colours! Great detail and lighting! 27 Apr 2009 10:51pm |
