Monique from Koh Samui, ThailandThe sun rays are beautiful in the background, great composition! 26 Jan 2009 5:20am Maxine from Rangiora, New Zealandfabulous sky, love the last hint of warmth being hurried out of the way for the storm. I like seeing the cars and bridge also , everything in perspective, Welcome back ! 26 Jan 2009 5:30am San G. from Encino, California, United StatesThe expansiveness allow for such a sense of "what's to come..." The bridge and cars hint at movement and even more expanse than is shown. The thing that impressed me so very much is the heaviness of the earth itself. It balances the evolving sky with its darkness. Tell me, is this volcanic earth? It has the same look as the southern part of the Big Island of Hawaii (much of which is now lava flow or black sand). 26 Jan 2009 6:00am @San G.: hello Sandy! thank you and yes -- Iceland is relatively 'fresh' volcanic flow, the southern rim being some of the newest indeed (where this location is located) and produces the expansive lava flows and black sand beaches along the famous southern coastlines!! the light was just extraordinary on this day -- and strangely most of my shots are also from this day...! a happy coincidence, though i will be the first to admit i like exotic lighting conditions, both for photography and also to 'live' in... at home, my lights are always off and i live in the dim glows of the computer screen! strange i know! i am definitely a gen x-er!!! :) cheers to you!! Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandHay dj good to see you again:-) 26 Jan 2009 6:01am Kylie Greenan from Richmond, AustraliaWow, that light is amazing, as in the colour of the sky and clouds, they look ready to burst, such a great capture my friend! Lovely to see your work again! 26 Jan 2009 7:14am 10Fraction from Rennes, FranceHello my friend, happy to see a new post....and it's amazing, the light is beautifull and falling from the sky, the ice deep blue, the atmosphere gorgeous, it's a fantastic photograph 26 Jan 2009 8:06am Elaine- from Canadavery dramatic picture, weather wise! i feel the anticipation of a storm coming! good to see you my friend 26 Jan 2009 8:58am Betty from New Jersey, United StatesExcellent capture of the approaching storm! 26 Jan 2009 10:32am MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyThese natural spectacles are really grand, you have captured a moment of quietness and beginning change. The cars are great for scale! 27 Jan 2009 3:56am Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainVery good light for this splendid panoramic. We can see the snow/rain falling from the left cloud in the horizon. 27 Jan 2009 4:01am Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomInteresting raw environment, there doesn't seem to be much light DJ, maybe because of the approaching snow ? 27 Jan 2009 5:02am dan from Paris, FranceAlways sensitive to the beauty of the nature. 27 Jan 2009 10:26am Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesNice view...I like how I can see the squall approaching off in the distance. 27 Jan 2009 1:06pm grant from kansas city, United Statesexcellent shot. the light is fantastic. the way it hits the cars is really something. this looks like it could be a still, perhaps the final frame, from a commercial for the car company... "live the adventure in a _____." 27 Jan 2009 10:29pm @grant: cheers grant and hehe -- funny you say that, i had the exact same thought!! it looks like a product placement shot!! i think it is the evenness of the lighting!!! :) Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyAgain such an amazing shot of a this beautiful island.
