A Silky Red Leg of Sand, Wadi RumPosted by dj.tigersprout (New York City, United States) on 13 November 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. this was one of those magical moments when i just couldn't believe my eyes... we were half way across a large, flat and dusty lakebed on the way to watch the sun set below the rocky horizon. i had turned to watch the exotic landscape pass by me and i was treated to this wondrous view of a lone 'leg' of silky red sand -- beautifully highlighted by a ray of sunlight. the long shadows that spilled over us and the surrounding ground cast a mystifying violet hue... it was just heavenly! luckily i was able to convince my bedouin guide to stop momentarily for this shot!! all work protected by Creative Commons

Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomUntouched beauty.... pausing for a moment, can you imagine where each grain of sand has been during the millennia..? and now settled here. Wonderful. 13 Nov 2008 5:21am @Observing: wow -- just a wonderfully imaginative and intriguingly contemplative thought!! thanks Mike!! :D bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI love the way the entire image is in a sweeping motion.
