'El Greco' Skies -- Out Takes #2Posted by dj.tigersprout (New York City, United States) on 25 August 2008 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio. this week i have chosen to break from Wadi Rum desert shots as i prepare for my long weekend (Labor Day for us here in the USA), 5 day trip back to Alaska on Thursday evening. so for the next few nights i am posting 'out takes'... shots that don't neatly fit into any sort of 'series'... but that i like just the same! they come from all manner of places, local and abroad and represent interior 'moments' where something was happening on a much deeper and subtle level within me... times when my soul on 'auto pilot' was taking the pictures... i certainly did not notice it at these various times, but in looking back over my photo collections, they are always there, easy for me to spot as they have a specific nonconforming style all their own... hope you enjoy them! cheers! all work protected by Creative Commons

It is worth keeping all images. 25 Aug 2008 10:40am Alun Lambert from cheshire, United Kingdomcracking shot dj . love the bright blue sky and shinning cloud 25 Aug 2008 11:57am willow from Chelsea, United StatesI love it - you can almost see the silver linings. I'd save this one for a rainy day and project it over the windows whenever the skies are gloomy. 25 Aug 2008 1:15pm Lorraine from CanadaBeautiful cloud formation, what's that saying about the sky being your roof...:) well in your case it sure is :) 25 Aug 2008 2:43pm grouser from Ludlow, United KingdomLovely sky dj. Just back after a few days away and I see I missed a couple of stunners from the desert. 25 Aug 2008 2:49pm jean-sebastien from St-joseph du lac, CanadaHey my friend, This real philosophical shot of yours is great and you know what, I enjoy it for one thing especially. I think that most people don't or won't post this kind of picture because its part of the "i've seen a lots of clouds pictures before". You know what i mean ? But no, YOU post them and I love it ! It reminds you great memories, so you go ahead and shoot ! What a great way of life. This behaviour just show us how good is your person ! Sincerely Js 25 Aug 2008 3:02pm Mary from Aberdeenshire, United KingdomLove the blue sky DJ and the superb cloud formation 25 Aug 2008 3:21pm Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaFantastic sky, great shot. Jean-sebastien says it perfectly. 25 Aug 2008 3:36pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomSimply wonderful, theses are the type of clouds when you was a kid, and look up and think... how high are they, at least that's what I feel. Good work Jay 25 Aug 2008 4:18pm Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, FranceWhat interesting tones in these clouds 25 Aug 2008 4:29pm Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainGreat sky, really reminds those of the baroque Spanish painters. Very good. 25 Aug 2008 6:36pm @Paco Díaz: thanks Paco -- great to hear you say that as you are certainly familiar with this famous painting period of Spain... i just remember seeing this particular painting of El Greco's over and over again... somewhere in our house... and i was just amazed at the sky in all of them... but particularly one -- unfortunately i do not remember which one... i was very young... and then a few months ago in Jerusalem i looked up and voila! it all came rushing back to me! :D dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaI never realised you and Ina went out on photographic shoots together....Hope you have a great trip - you've earned it! 25 Aug 2008 7:04pm Mala from Newcastle- upon- Tyne, United KingdomBeautiful sky. I love the sun shining onto the clouds from behind. 25 Aug 2008 9:49pm Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesLove cloud photos.. never get sick of them... 25 Aug 2008 10:51pm marianne from Toulouse, from France, Franceclouds'dance ! 25 Aug 2008 11:39pm @marianne: cheers Marianne! i hope this could be considered a 'modern' el greco homage... even though this isn't a painting! ;) akarui from Kagoshima, JapanNice change with those clouds. Harmony of colors with that subtil orange on the clouds against the blue sky. 26 Aug 2008 2:07am Terre Mavix Chartrand from Kitchener, CanadaTo tell you the truth, your break from a series may inspire me to start one!. I really love this shot. I spend hours of my life staring up at the sky. Clouds have been a favourite thing of mine since childhood and to see them so beautifully captured is wonderful. 26 Aug 2008 4:24am @Terre Mavix Chartrand: Thanks heaps Terre -- strangely, as much i love looking at clouds, i don't often take pictures of them... and even when i do, i don't often use or keep those photos... not sure why. These clouds though are so 'meaty' like i could just reach out and squeeze them! And that terrific blue just fills me with magical energy! It was so heavenly! :) Luis A. De Jesus R. from Mexico City, MexicoNothing cliché about this sky shot. Have a pleasant Labor Day weekend. 31 Aug 2008 1:04am Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesMakes me think of Blue Skies for Everyone by Bob Schneider.
