Erik from Amersfoort, NetherlandsThis is defiantly one of my favorites... what an amazing site to see. 6 Aug 2008 6:34am Monique from Koh Samui, ThailandWow, this is spectacular ... the environment doesn't make you feel welcome but it looks amazing! 6 Aug 2008 6:43am Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandWow this really is the road to Nowhere! Just such an amazing sky and once again dj you have captured the atmosphere perfectly. Oh no, I don't want you to leave Alaska!!!! Only kidding:-)) 6 Aug 2008 6:45am Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, Germany'It's the end of the world as we know it...' Beautiful addition to the series, DJ! 6 Aug 2008 7:04am saeed from ahwaz, Irangreat landscape! so interesting and amazing place to be! I like this series! well framed! 6 Aug 2008 7:29am Marie Le Corre from Voiron, FranceThe end or the beginning of the world... or the white paradise 6 Aug 2008 9:41am Namaki from Bordeaux, Franceanother beautiful capture of the great North ! beautiful ! 6 Aug 2008 10:07am grouser from Ludlow, United KingdomHow much further to go before everywhere is South? The penny has only just dropped as to why the lighting in thes shots is so soft. That's what age does for you. Did the sun ever actually get above the horizon? 6 Aug 2008 10:40am grouser from Ludlow, United KingdomThat should have been 'these' of course. An edit facility for comments would be nice, or is there one and I am to stupid to have noticed? 6 Aug 2008 10:43am Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomDespite the dangers of the cold, you just want to step out across those tracks, and off into the wilderness. 6 Aug 2008 11:02am bm from Budapest, Hungaryanother inviting shot...just to go and explore the world...you're a true explorer my friend! 6 Aug 2008 11:16am Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomAnother amazing shot that we wouldn't normally see, it must be strange having that eerie glow, living in twilight. Jaycee did you think about making a motion record of your trips...? 6 Aug 2008 12:00pm Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaYour lack of words substantiates the title perfectly, gosh you're brilliant. Love this photo Dj. :) 6 Aug 2008 12:11pm Kylie Greenan from Richmond, AustraliaI agree with Linerberry, it will be sad to leave alaska, how lucky are we that we get to experience it without the bitter cold, although somehow I think that would add to the experience. A great capture leading to who knows where DJ. It looks very pretty there. Thanks for sharing this with us. 6 Aug 2008 12:24pm Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesAnother great capture of a desolate landscape. The tracks in the snow do a good job of leading one's eyes toward the mountains. 6 Aug 2008 12:29pm Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceWhite desert, a great scene of this unknown & not touristic land. 6 Aug 2008 1:29pm António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalThe light is fantastic. What a sense of isolation. 6 Aug 2008 2:19pm Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesLove the landscape of this... come on DJ... why not stop and have a picnic here... hehehe... a little cold you think? 6 Aug 2008 2:45pm Monique from NetherlandsAgain a beautiful picture from this cold (cold is actually an inderstatement;)) and harsh place! 6 Aug 2008 3:18pm Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaLovely shot, I find the road intriguing and want to follow it, except for the cold off course. 6 Aug 2008 3:52pm willow from Chelsea, United StatesIt just looks so cold!!!! I like the blue sky in this one - I think it's one of the few I've seen in this arctic series and it really makes the environment seem a little less forboding. 6 Aug 2008 4:27pm kerfendal from Paris, FranceI like this big immensity of snow and ice everything peaceful 6 Aug 2008 5:39pm Helma from Tehran, IranWow .. another wonderful landdscape shot !! an excellent works .. bravo ! 6 Aug 2008 7:51pm Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaBleak and beautiful. A wonderful picture. Were you using a polarizing filter. I just see the round edges in all four corners which in this picture really adds to the composition. 6 Aug 2008 10:40pm Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesThe warm colors of that cold sky are betrayed by that fine powder snow - which says how cold it really is. Another beautiful addition to your journal. 6 Aug 2008 10:58pm akarui from Kagoshima, JapanA feeling of going to nowhere indeed, only big space... 7 Aug 2008 12:28am Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaA big beautiful feeling of open space and glorious scenery. Wonderful, Jaycee. 7 Aug 2008 3:39am DarkElf from Perth, Australiawonderful wide shot here! what an intriguing place, one that i don't think i'll ever see in real life and therefore it is wonderful to see it through your photos... i think the white snowy "desert" can look a lot more raw and desolate than other landscapes... 7 Aug 2008 3:52am amy from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaWow! You've got some incredibly impressive images here dj. Love all your commentaries for this Alaska series. And I must say that you're doing an amazing job with these winter images.... and very impressed with a Californian braving a real winter!! LOL!!! Looking forward to the rest... 7 Aug 2008 4:08am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaSo many important details and factors in this image. The traces of life coming from the bottom of the frame...leading to beyond the eye can see. The cloud entering the frame from the left...like a creature making it's way across the landscape. I love how this is such a quiet image, bu there is so much activity :) 7 Aug 2008 4:39am Arash from Dubai, United Arab EmiratesI can feel vastness of this area! you had a wonderfull trip! 7 Aug 2008 12:36pm @Arash: Hello and thank you Arash! Yes, the trip was certainly wonderful and amazing! The open spaces were just mind blowing! :) @Sandrine: Thanks heaps Sandrine! And thanks for getting Ina to post those pics of the mouse! I loved those shots too! :) @gbe: Cheers mate -- yes, i do like those tracks too! I just wish i had been able to follow them... i am sure it would have led me somewhere spectacular! :) Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaGreat stuff! This really conveys the majesty of the North. 19 Aug 2008 5:17pm |
