@Rhys: Cheers Rhys! Thanks much! :) @MahGol: Thank you Mahgol! Thanks very much for all your comments! :) Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesWow. Breathtaking, DJ. A dramatic photograph all the way. 2 Jul 2008 5:32am @Stephen Phillips: Thanks Stephen! It was a beautiful location... I spent a few hours here... after a swim and a short nap of course! I am glad the picture stands up to my memory of the place! :) Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaExcellent composition and soft delicate colors make this image a winner! 2 Jul 2008 5:34am @Michael Skorulski: Thank you Michael! Thank you kindly! :) GJC from Kyoto, JapanLovely shot and very good framing. I can't decide if I might have cropped that island on the very right side. . . What do you (and others) think? 2 Jul 2008 5:44am @GJC: Thanks for the comment and feedback mate! To answer your question, I left the island on the right side so the eye can more easily judge distance as it moves backward in the frame... I could have taken it out... and it wouldn't have ruined the composition by any means... but by keeping it in, the photo has more rhythm... from front to middle to back and then to the far horizon. Do you agree? :) Thank you again for the feedback! @Marie Le Corre: Thank you Marie -- your sunrise shot today was simply stunning! Bravo! :) See The Light from Newcastle, United Statesbeautiful image, nice natural framing. 2 Jul 2008 6:26am @See The Light: Thank you kindly! :) Catalin from Bucharest, RomaniaThe framing is very good and the colors are excellent 2 Jul 2008 6:38am @Catalin: Hello Catalin! Thank you for the comment! :) Artin Zaman from Tehran, IranGood composition nice colors. Each day one shot from one corner of the world. Thats great :D 2 Jul 2008 7:33am @Artin Zaman: Thanks Artin! Lucky for me, i have had a good number of trips in the last 1.5 years... so now i can mix them up and show them all at once! :) @Ana Lúcia: Thank you Ana! Cheers. @giannis: Hello and thank you Giannis! :) Thomas Griffioen from Bocas del Toro, PanamaWow DJ, this rocks! The shadow in the water in the left corner, just great! 2 Jul 2008 9:31am @Thomas Griffioen: Thanks Thomas! Your island pic was a complete knock out! Maybe we should both switch locations... you can do Thailand and i can go to Panama! :) @Eleftheria!: Thank you Eleftheria! It was certainly heavenly! :) @vu@granby - Wolfgang: Cheers, Wolfgang! No wonderful picture from you lot today? :( hugo poon from Hong KongWhat a wonderful place and it's so beautifully captured!!! 2 Jul 2008 3:32pm @hugo poon: Thank you Hugo! You are going to love all the photo opportunities, macro and otherwise! When do you go? :) gbe from kansas city, United Statesbeautiful place and composition. makes me wish i was there. 2 Jul 2008 7:02pm @gbe: Thanks Grant -- if you can find the time, it is definitely worth the trip... this was my first visit to Thailand... and believe me I will certainly be going back many more times... I have added it instantly to the top places on this planet after 1 visit! Simply amazing! Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaWow beautiful shot, this could be the cover of a travel magazine. 2 Jul 2008 7:37pm @Graham Russon: Thanks mate! I hope to write for a travel mag one day... You comment gives me inspiration! :) Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyYou did it once again. This is an awesome shot. The composition is perfect and the wideness promising... I especially like how the shadow of the rocks to the left continues the rocks darkness to form a natural frame... 2 Jul 2008 8:33pm @Mirko Herzner: Thanks Mirko -- yes, it was the shadow that spoke to me at this location... in every conceivable direction, there was beautiful water and islands and sky... but i figured the shadow would add another level of complexity... Glad you see that too! Observing from Local, United KingdomExcellent frame dj, and that distant island.... I just wanna go there :) Perfect picture. 2 Jul 2008 9:00pm @Observing: Thanks Mike -- you could probably swim there! I swam to the island to the right... it only took about 5 minutes! :) @drum: cheers mate! :) yes - i kept that small portion of the island on the far right as it serves as a good median point for the eye to wander from the foreground to the middle and finally to the background in the far distance! @David (12 years old): Cheers David -- Thank you! Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesReminds me of a scene from a James Bond movie --Goldfinger was it? 2 Jul 2008 11:01pm @Twelvebit: hehe... very good mate! this was just miles away in the same island chain! good spotting! :P @Linerberry: Thank you kindly! And thanks for the comments! :) @Ron: Thanks Ron! Stunning pic you had today mate -- top notch! :) @pLusOne: it was a beautiful place to be and simply wonderful to swim! the sun was so hot... this shaded lagoon was heavenly! thanks for the comment! :) DarkElf from Perth, Australianice natural framing and good calm overall mood! i quite like the subtle and toned down nature of this photo... 3 Jul 2008 3:55am @DarkElf: cheers mate! always appreciative of your comments! :) Jean-Benoît Maréchal from Dinant, BelgiumNice composition. If you book a ticket to Thailand, then you can see this and more w/ your own eyes! @pierre: Merci Pierre! I do love traveling! :) If my pictures can convince others to travel the globe -- than it is all worth it! :) Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaWhat a well thought out composition this is. It has a marvellous balance to it, and the exposure captures the lighter tones perfectly. So beautiful, too! 3 Jul 2008 1:06pm @Andrew Gould: Cheers Andrew! I do like this one quite a bit. :) I am away til Sunday -- but see you then! Hope your weekend is good! Rui Borges from Sintra, PortugalMan, you keep on doing a great work here... 3 Jul 2008 3:37pm @Rui Borges: Thank you Rui! Thank you kindly! :) Florence from Paris, FranceTo answer you about my next travel, I hope to be in Thailand next year... first Vietnam for a couple of days (know someone in Hue) and then Bangkok... 3 Jul 2008 4:49pm @Florence: Ooh -- sounds wonderful! You will have a marvelous time! :) @Helma: Cheers Helma -- thanks very much! :) Riccardo from Lyon, FranceGreat frame of nature and sky Dj Tiger! very good shot!Mi piace molto la composizione e i colori che constrastano tra di loro. The constrate between the sky and the black of the rock is very actractive for me. Good shot my friend! Ciao Dj, a presto, Riccardo ^.^ 3 Jul 2008 7:00pm @Riccardo: Merci Riccardo, Merci! :) Thanks much my friend! @danthro: Cheers mate -- hope you 4rth was great! :) Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomGorgeous shot, in every way, the lighting, colours, the shapes in the image, are merging to make this one super shot, good work. 3 Jul 2008 10:49pm @Richard_Irwin: Cheers Richard! Yes i wasn't sure if this would come out well without a good amount of post processing -- due to the heavy contrast in lighting -- but i am very pleased with the results! :) Thank you! akarui from Kagoshima, JapanVery nice shot and place. You seem to be in a cave as we can see the shadows in the water. 4 Jul 2008 1:25am @akarui: Thanks Akarui! Yep, i swam through some shallow lagoons until i came across this 'cave-like' over hang. I loved the deep contrast of the shadow to the bright and very hot light of the tropical sun. I can only say i wish i had had my wide lens... I would have loved to expand the lens perimeter and capture even more of the scenery! :) Mike from Lichfield, United KingdomThis really is a gorgeous photo. The land on the right hand side helps make the photo rather than detract from it. 4 Jul 2008 5:58am @Mike: Cheers Mike! Hope your weekend was great! :) Jrask from Pasadena, United StatesI love Krabi, the location is beautiful. Railay Beach was one of my favorite spots in Thailand! Wonderful capture :) 4 Jul 2008 10:23pm @Jrask: Cheers Joshua! What a coincidene... this shot was taken on the back side of Railay Beach after i swam through a few shallow lagoons and into a bit of a cave!! I loved my time there! :) When did you go? How long ago? bluechameleon from Vancouver, Canadaomg your framing is perfect...the colours are so beautiful and I could just fall into this image! 5 Jul 2008 5:59am @bluechameleon: Thanks Blue! The shadow of the 'cave-like' wall really drew me in... wasn't sure if it would come out ok as the contrast was pretty great -- glad to see it still gave me amazing color and detail on one side and the rich velvety blacks on the other! :) Thanks again! @eddy: Cheers Eddy! Thanks very much! @Eric Rousset: Cheers mate -- yes it was so wonderful. We stayed in this area for about 3 days... It was heaven! @Alun Lambert: Cheers Alun! Welcome back! How was the trip? I expect we will shortly see some amazing pictures? :) @Daniel: Cheers Daniel -- It was a very calming place... great way to beat the heat too! :) @Stefan: Cheers mate! Jrask from Pasadena, United StatesI was in Thailand at the end of last summer, Krabi was probably in early August. I did a whirlwind tour of SE Asia by myself with nothing but a backpack! Quite an adventure...when were you there? 10 Jul 2008 4:10am @Jrask: wow -- that is awesome -- i wish i had done that! i was there last october for a wedding -- so just a few months after you! i could have totally gone alone though... did you enjoy it? or did you find yourself lonely? kudos on making that enormous effort on your own! that is my kind of travel! :) |
