@Michael Skorulski: Cheers Michael! :) Artin Zaman from Tehran, IranCute tiger and also a beautiful shot. 28 Jun 2008 5:22am @Artin Zaman: This was a point and shoot -- so i could if i went into the menu, but i rarely use that camera anymore :) @Saeed: Thanks Saeed! I love Tigers too... they are my favorite! :) Prieto from Talavera de la Reina, Spain, SpainI like tigers, and the yellow colours are fantastic, indeed! 28 Jun 2008 10:27am @Prieto: Hola amigo! Muchas gracias a ti! :) @Nicholas: Thank you Nicholas! Wasn't the place wonderful? :) @Observing: Cheers Mike! I wanted to take this guy home with me... but my suit case was already full... ;-) @[suvni:R]: Hello and thanks! Well, I am sure this was zoomed up as far as it would go but we would only have been 15 feet away where i took this pic -- but to give you an idea of how close we were to this marvelous adolescent... I got to sit beside him and pet him on a few different occasions... It was simply amazing! @Florence: Thanks, and yes -- Isn't he just beautiful? I wish i could have him as a pet! I got to pet him a few times though -- so i guess that is good enough! :) @Stefan: Cheers mate! Thomas Griffioen from Bocas del Toro, PanamaGreat shot! Only the ground is somewhat highlighted. 28 Jun 2008 5:02pm @Thomas Griffioen: Cheers mate -- yep, this was last time i used a point and shoot...! I came home from this trip and promptly bought the canon rebel xt i am using now! and i LOVE the difference! :) @Ina: Thank you Ina! Cheers! :) Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyWhere is the story? ;-) No. Honestly: Another great capture! Really impressive! 28 Jun 2008 6:00pm @Mirko Herzner: Hehe... Thanks Mirko! Good day to you! :) I actually went out straight from work last night -- so no chance to write! which is too bad really -- because the story behind this pic has a great ending, culminating in how i got bit by one of these beautiful tigers! (no joke) it was pretty exhilarating to say the least, not to mention very painful...!! but maybe the remaining details of the story should remain untold, cloaking my experience in further mystery...? let me know what you think. ;-P Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainI like it very much. The young tiger looks powerful. 28 Jun 2008 6:56pm @Paco Díaz: Hola y Gracias Paco! :) @MahGol: Thanks Mahgol, he is cute indeed! They let us pet him a few times! It was awesome! :) @Hamid.R: cheers mate, thanks! vu@granby - Gilles Martineau from Granby, Québec, CanadaNice picture of a lovely pet. 28 Jun 2008 9:58pm @vu@granby - Gilles Martineau: Thanks Gilles! He may be partially tame, and friendly around humans -- but he is no pet! He has either been abandoned by his mother or injured in the wild and found. But most likely he will be let loose back into the wild once his stay is complete... the buddhist monks have particular ways of making sure this tiger and the other tigers there don't mistakenly eat any of the visitors... :) Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesDJ - I'd suggest this is your namesake - but this kitty-cat ain't no sprout. Splendid image, DJ. Very cool. 28 Jun 2008 11:17pm @Stephen Phillips: Cheers Stephen! :) Yeah this guy wasn't so small... but the adult cats were so much bigger! There were some much younger cubs there too... I guess they could be 'sprouts'... :) Namaki from Bordeaux, Francehow lucky you have been to get close to such a beautiful animal ! 29 Jun 2008 12:01am @Namaki: Thank you! Thank you! Yes, i felt very lucky indeed! :) Eric Fry from Houston, TX, United StatesWhat a gorgeous cat! Great photo, even without the story. LOL (But we'd all love to read that story sometime.) 29 Jun 2008 2:42pm @Eric Fry: Cheers Eric! Hehe... Yes it is a good story -- kinda wish i hadn't been in a rush that evening. But i have a few shots of some other juvenile tigers... so maybe the story will find its way out afterall! :) Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaGreat shot, the angle and composition is spot on. 29 Jun 2008 7:42pm @Graham Russon: Cheers Graham, thanks much! Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesThat's an awesome animal. I hate to see him chained though. I had a friend in high school who had a Mexican Mountain Lion cub in his house for awhile. He was about as big as a small dog (the lion cub, not my friend) -- like a Jack Russell Terrier-- but already so powerful that he was unintentionally dangerous. 30 Jun 2008 11:41pm @Twelvebit: Yes -- these cats were well taken care of... and they are wild! :) many of them are injured or lost -- so they spend a few months here at the temple before they get shipped back off to wilderness. They keep them very well fed of course -- to reduce / eliminate biting. But it was thrilling to be so close and get to pet them... the fur is so coarse! :) @bluechameleon: Thanks! Yes -- i savored my time with this adolescent... so feisty! so beautiful! |
