Sunday Morning Shandies, The Rocks, Sydney

Even though i, myself, am far from religious, I do believe strongly in the idea that we need at least one day of rest each week. I probably would lobby for 3 days of rest each week (if only i could have my way and actually be heard) :P

So on this quite common day of rest (Sunday), I would like to toast all of you here, community members of aminus3, for all the wonderful and inspiring work that you all have posted, and for all the honest and constructive feedback and support you have graciously given me and my work -- since i joined exactly 1 month ago! Thank you all, and thank you kindly! :)

That being said, i would like to display a wonderful Aussie tradition of mine -- when i am in Australia that is -- and toast you all with a Sunday Shandy (as pictured above). For those of you who do not know what a Shandy is: it is usually a mix of 7-Up (or Sprite or anything like that) and a local, domestic beer (although that doesn't have to be the case). What does it taste like you ask? Simply wonderful and refreshing is the only answer i can offer you! :) Still curious? Try it out for yourselves... Mix and match to your taste... and then drink up and enjoy!

We've got the same here ! We mix limonade (very similar with 7Up) with a common beer. It's refreshing !

Excellent composition, the highlights coming off of the table work beautifully here.

I, too, agree that three days of rest would be fantastic. However, since the rest of my little reality will not begrudge me that favor, I've figured out how to get my three days, just not in one continuous string...

The good old shandy, here its always mixed with lemonade. Although I prefer my beer unmixed, I know exactly what you mean, Sunday just wouldn't be the same without a quiet pint down the pub at lunchtime.

@lisa v: hehe -- i don't like beer much myself -- but have you tried a shandy? it is delicious -- and most of the beer flavor is overpowered by the 7-UP. it really is like a very light rootbeer instead -- but it 'looks' like beer, so you can still fit in visually! :) give it a go... and cheers to you!

Great photo, and I completely agree with you on the day of rest part. But I'm sure that somewhere in the Bible it also says: "And He took six weeks vacation in the South of France and God saw that it was good," so I think we should make that a rule as well. :-)
