Left Bank Solace (Muir Woods, Marin, California)

At the end of a lovely but wet walk through Muir Woods, i stopped by the bank of a stream while waiting for some friends who were back a ways on the path. I became entranced by the gurgling of gentle water flowing over rocks and pebbles carrying small twigs and reddish-yellow leaves towards some unknown destination. My eyes followed a particularly bright green leaf, shaken free by the passing storm, that came to rest in the shallows on the far bank via a small eddie. Moments later, as if coming to my senses from a deep sleep i reached for my camera.
