View From the Pool on Ko Yao Noi, Thailand

Last October some Aussie mates of mine had a faaabulous buddhist wedding on the remote island of Ko Yao Noi in Thailand. Nearly 2 hours from Phuket in a rented motor boat, we couldn't believe the majesty of the place when we finally arrived. Part of the famously beautiful Phang Nga island chain, but at the same time quite removed, this was the stunning view from the resort pool which directly overlooked the resort beach. Across the verdent lagoon, on the deceivingly close horizon, you can see the rest of the fantastical Phang Nga island chain, quite often nestled in light mists, with just a hint of the wonderful Krabi Provence (mainland) in the far distance.

@dobbino: Thanks mate. Yes -- the desk job life kills me slowly... :) so i do what i can to turn back the years... so far traveling is one of the best ways to keep my inner child alive -- music too!

@zOOm: It was certainly magical... I almost died of wonder when we hopped out of the boat and saw where we would be staying... none of us had ever been anywhere like it before... it was an unrealized dream come true! :)

@Evelyne Dubos: Yes... I wondered that too... but i think it is UV protective clothing... as opposed to wearing sunscreen. I think the Aussies do something similar... This family was staying for 2 weeks and they were friends of the resort owner... Lucky them! I can only imagine staying on this small secluded island for that long... :)

@Lilo: Thanks mate -- yes, people often ask me about the figures in the pool. Originally, i was hoping they would get out so i could take the picture unfettered... but finally i gave in and took it regardless... i am glad i did. i like having them there! :) this family had been in the pool for about 2 hours at this point -- cause we were there with them -- and i think regardless of the heat, the boy at least was starting to feel waterlogged... which may explain his curved back... i think he was pretty much ready to get out. :)
