Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaVery pretty. The photo has a warm and romantic atmosphere. 30 May 2008 5:48am @Michael Skorulski: Thanks for your comment. I had originally named this 'Middle Eastern Blues' due to the quasi-romantic (conflicted) feeling of the pic... however it didn't really fit well with the space allotted for the title (plus i wanted to add the location and country)... oh well. Cheers. @Alun Lambert: Yes I think i am going to have to start getting up earlier... I like the colorful effects i am getting on 30+ second exposures. Cheers for the comment! @Stefan: Thank you! It was quite warm actually... maybe a comfortable 75 degrees? I couldn't sleep and I certainly didn't need a jacket as i wandered about in the near dark. This is a 4 second exposure pic... that is how i got the cobalt blue from the sky... it was actually nearly black to the human eye when i composed this shot. Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesWhat a magnificent scene ... this is a time of day that I enjoy taking photographs! 30 May 2008 3:49pm @Ron: Thank you! I was quite captivated by the old-school architecture and the orange and white street lights that i saw before i went to bed that night. Luckily i woke up very early due to jetlag and dragged myself out onto the street to try and capture the lighting... good thing i did -- the magic and magnificence of the entire trip started with me getting up to take this shot! @zOOm: Thank you! Yes when i saw the results on my viewfinder i got all excited and took quite a few more. Only wish i had brought my tripod for ultimate crystal clear clarity...! C'est la vie! :) dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaBrilliant capture - was definitely losing sleep over! DJ - for me this one really does need some horizontal-type adjustment. My PS tells me about 2.52 degrees CW - have a look and see what you think. 30 May 2008 4:55pm @dobbino: thanks, and you are probably right! i took this one in the dark on the side of a hill without a tripod and using a rock and my hand for balance... :) so i am sure there are some straightening possibilities! :) thanks for the feedback! Riccardo from Lyon, FranceThis sky is fantastic...very nice colors in this image...i like it and i like the composition of this image and the detail of the planet...:) PS: thanks for the explication for the monument...i'm italian...one day go in Italy! Ciao, buona serata, Riccardo. 30 May 2008 8:47pm @Riccardo: Thank you for the comments! And no worries on the explanation -- happy to do it! I would love to go to Italy too... hope to do so in the near future! Where should i go? What are your favorite places and things to see? Cheers. Riccardo from Lyon, FranceFirenze, Siena, Roma, Torino, Napoli, Palermo...when you go in Italy call me dj. tigersprout's...i know my fantastic nation...Italy is the history, the culture, the theatre...the people is very to be open to tourist...Ciao ^.^ 30 May 2008 9:08pm @Riccardo: Many thanks for all these recommendations Riccardo! MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomA fabulous night shot, the colours are wonderful. 31 May 2008 1:23am @MaryB: Thank you!! roamin from Nova Scotia, Canadalove the luminous glow of the town under what would normally be a dark night sky. 2 Jun 2008 1:08am @roamin: Thank you, thank you! I feel lucky to have experienced Jordan by a full moon! The whole trip was amazing! Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaBeautiful compositon, colours and light. An outstanding image. 2 Jun 2008 3:41am @Andrew Gould: Thank you! I just wish i had had a tripod... to capture even more detail through complete clarity... oh well, i learned my lesson -- i am buying a tripod!! @Anthony Lambert: Thank you! I think i learned a good deal about low light photography that morning! I am happy to have this as a memento of my efforts! akarui from Kagoshima, JapanBeautiful night shot and use of complementary colors blue-orange. 6 Jun 2008 1:33am @akarui: Thank you!
